• Account information — email address, display name, and profile picture (if you sign in with Google)
• Mood entries — your daily mood rating (1-5), energy level, notes, and the date of each entry
• AI chat messages — conversations with the AI companion are stored to provide contextual responses
• Usage data — login timestamps and streak counts to support app features
• Friend connections — friend requests and shared mood data between connected users

2. How We Use Your Data

• To provide the core mood tracking and insights features
• To power the AI companion with context about your mood patterns
• To display your mood heatmap, streaks, and analytics
• To enable social features (friend connections, mood sharing)
• To process payments if you subscribe to Clarity Pro

3. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored on secure servers. Passwords are hashed using industry-standard algorithms. Session tokens are generated using cryptographically secure methods. We use HTTPS for all data transmission.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

• Google Sign-In — for authentication (governed by Google's Privacy Policy)
• Stripe — for payment processing (governed by Stripe's Privacy Policy)
• Groq — for AI-powered chat responses (your messages are sent to Groq's API for processing)

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. Your mood entries and personal information are never shared with third parties for marketing purposes. Data is only shared with third-party services listed above as necessary to provide app functionality.

If you use the Friends feature, your mood data may be visible to users you have accepted as friends.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access — view all data we store about you
• Delete — request deletion of your account and all associated data
• Export — download your mood entries (available to Pro users)
• Correct — update your personal information at any time

7. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all associated data (mood entries, chat history, friend connections) will be permanently removed within 30 days.

8. Children's Privacy

Clarity is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of Clarity after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
